Ashford Lions organized and joined forces with fellow clubs from our local area and entered a float at the Venetian Fete in Hythe.

Lions from Ashford, Dover, Folkestone, Hythe & Romney Marsh, and Tenterden came together to celebrate 100 years of Lions Clubs International with a float at the fete.

Floats were paraded past an enthusiastic crowd lining the banks of the Royal Military Canal and VIPs including visiting Mayors of the Confederation of Cinque Ports.

Our float was decorated with a large yellow 100 sign to celebrate 100 years of Lions Clubs International.

On the daylight circuit the spectators appreciated our toys and the ‘I Saw The Lions’ tee shirts. The excitement rose as darkness descended and the firework display ended. The floats headed out lit up and there was an element of anticipation and excitement in the crowd; many of whom were already proudly wearing their Lion tee-shirts.
