To support immediate needs due to the Coronavirus outbreak our club successfully applied to receive an Emergency Grant from Lions MD105 British Isles Foundation.
Identifying the need for protective face shields for the NHS, care workers and hospital staff in general, we responded to an outreach from the University of Kent to contribute with funding to the production of protective face shields.
With these funds the University of Kent was able to produce over 700 protective face shields, which were distributed to the Dermatology Department of the East Kent Hospitals Trust, to the Kent & Canterbury Hospital, as well as to the Pilgrims Hospices here in Kent.
